The Iranian response may come within two days

Two US officials said on Monday that the United States believes that Iran may carry out retaliatory attacks targeting US forces in the Middle East soon, despite the United States seeking a diplomatic solution that guarantees Tehran’s failure to any attack.

One of the officials, who spoke to Reuters, said, provided that his identity was not disclosed, that the Iranian retaliatory attack may take place during the next day or two days.

Iran threatened to respond after the United States bombed its nuclear sites.

US officials warn Iran against responding to the United States, and US President Donald Trump said after the raids that any retaliatory response from Iran against the United States would meet much more strongly than the one used in recent attacks.

The head of the American Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Kane, said on Sunday that the US military has strengthened the protection of its forces in the region, including Iraq and Syria.
