"Msci" It remains on South Korea in the list of emerging markets

Seoul on June 25 / WAM / MSCI announced that South Korea has kept its index of emerging markets, postponing its attempt to upgrade to the position of an advanced market until June of next year.
The Yonhap News Agency reported that the decision came due to the continued restrictions that limit the arrival of foreign investors to the market.
Although MSCI adopted the existence of positive reforms, such as the extension of foreign exchange trading hours, it indicated that there are continuing fundamental obstacles that include: operational difficulties in the procedures for registration of foreign investors, the limited use of comprehensive accounts and transactions outside the stock exchange, and the failure of the foreign exchange market completely.
MSCI stated that she will continue to monitor the implementation of the measures taken by Seoul, but she needs to see concrete improvements in six main categories before considering their future upgrade.
