"World Trade" It reveals the high commodity index with increased imports in the first quarter

Geneva, June 26 / WAM / The World Trade Organization said in a report Thursday evening in Geneva that the trade of global commodities witnessed a remarkable increase in early 2025, driven by importers to intensify purchases before the imposition of higher customs duties, according to the commodity index.
The report stated that the latest index of the organization for commodity trade had risen to 103.5 points, from 102.8 points in March, while the new export request index fell to 97.9 points, indicating poor trade growth later in the year.
The commodity trade index of the International Organization provides immediate information on the path of commodity trade compared to modern trends and the index values of more than 100 are related to the size of a trade higher than the direction, while the index values of less than 100 indicate that the commodity trade indicates that they have been decreased from the direction or will decline in the near future.
