The UAE and China are looking for cooperation in industry, energy and infrastructure

The Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Managing Director and CEO of “ADNOC” and its group of companies, Chairman of the Masdar Company, Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al -Jaber, during a working visit to the People’s China, met officials in the Chinese government and a number of executives of the largest companies there, and the visit comes with the aim of enhancing the strategic partnership between the two friendly countries, and expanding the prospects for cooperation in vital areas, including energy, renewable energy, industry and structure Infrastructure.
The visit witnessed meetings with the Chinese Minister of Finance, because Fu Ann, the head of the International Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party, Leo Jian Chao, and the President of the Asian Bank for Infrastructure Investment, Tsu Jia Yi, attended the meetings of the State Ambassador to China, Hussein Ibrahim Al Hammadi.
Al -Jaber also held meetings with senior private sector officials and executives of a number of Chinese companies, and during the meetings the developments of cooperation in the fields of energy, renewable energy, oil and gas, liquefied natural gas and refining, petrochemical, shipping and strategic storage, were discussed, in addition to discussing ways to enhance investments, and explore opportunities to develop industrial infrastructure projects, within the framework of the eagerness of the two friendly countries on the eagerness of the two friendly countries Establishing industrial and technical partnerships that contribute to the transfer of knowledge, localization of technology and promoting competitiveness.
Dr. Sultan Al -Jaber stressed that the vision of leadership in the UAE focuses on building partnerships that contribute to achieving sustainable growth, again the country’s firm commitment to strengthening and expanding the prospects for the comprehensive strategic partnership with China, and seeking to launch new projects that serve the development goals of the two countries and contribute to supporting the growth of national companies and enhancing cooperation between the governmental and private sectors, in order to achieve common interests, and accelerates sustainable growth in the two friendly countries.
It is noteworthy that China is the first trade partner of the UAE, with the total trade exchange in 2024 more than 100 billion dollars, and achieved growth (on an annual basis) by 7% driven by increasing imports (18%).
The first quarter of this year also witnessed the growth of non -oil trade exchange by about 18%, compared to the same period last year, driven by the growth of exports, which increased by about 32.5%, and re -export by 20.2%, while imports increased by 12.7%.
• Non -oil trade exchange between the two countries increased by 18 % during the first quarter of 2025.
