The Ministry of Health participates in a Gulf meeting to enhance cooperation to combat drugs

The Ministry of Health participated in the celebration organized by the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf at its headquarters in the city of Riyadh, on the occasion of the International Day for Narcotics Control, in the presence of His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Security Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al -Bald, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for International Cooperation Rakan bin Dahish, and representatives of the ministries of health and interior and the relevant authorities in the GCC countries.

Participants discussed the efforts of the GCC countries in the field of drug control, ways to enhance joint cooperation, and exchange experiences and experiences in prevention, treatment and rehabilitation, in line with the unified Gulf strategy in this field.

The celebration witnessed the highlight of the Kingdom’s efforts to combat drugs through effective integration between the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Health, where the two ministries are implemented with a number of sectors, joint national programs for prevention and treatment, and promoting community awareness, in addition to developing the rehabilitation services and subsequent care for the recovery.

This celebration comes as an embodiment of the council’s role in supporting Gulf integration in addressing the scourge of drugs and enhancing health and community security for the countries of the Council.
