"American sheikhs" Initially approved the Trump Tax Bill
Washington, on June 29 / WAM / The US Senate approved initially President Donald Trump’s comprehensive bill for taxes and spending, after a crucial procedural vote that ended with a small majority of 51 votes compared to 49.
This vote, which took place late yesterday, paves the way to discuss the legislation that aims to extend the tax cuts of 2017 and increase spending on the army and border security.
The approval came after an intense republic’s deliberations to secure the necessary voices, amid severe opposition from Democrats who consider that the law benefits the wealthy at the expense of social programs.
Independent analysts warned that the legislation may add trillion dollars to public debt, while the American president welcomed the result, describing it as “great victory.”
