Sharjah and UAE Scouts Commission promotes scientific and scout work

Sharjah, June 29 / WAM / The Sharjah Scout Commission today signed a partnership agreement with the Emirates Astronomy Association, to consolidate the bonds of cooperation and activate the areas of partnership in programs and initiatives aimed at spreading astronomical culture among the members of the scouts and youth and enhancing the position of astronomy as part of the scientific and heritage identity of the UAE.

The agreement was signed at the headquarters of the Sharjah Scout Commission, His Excellency Major General Abdullah Saeed Al -Suwaidi, Vice -Chairman of the Sharjah Scout Commission and His Excellency Ibrahim Al -Jarwan, President of the Emirates Astronomy Association.

His Excellency Major General Abdullah Saeed Al -Suwaidi emphasized that this partnership comes to refine the skills, expand the perceptions, link the individual to his heritage and science, and from here the astronomy was a strategic choice to expand the horizon among young people and youth and enable them to think about scientific thinking and openness to the secrets of the universe with faith, science and pride in identity as well as its compatibility with the scouting programs and badges that the scout gets in order to meet efforts towards spreading general culture in astronomical sciences.

For his part, His Excellency Ibrahim Al -Jarwan said that today we are not only re -reviving an old Arab scientific glory, but we establish a new path of constructive cooperation to spread astronomical culture and enhance its presence in societal and scouting programs and expand the scope of societal interaction with this high human science.

The most important provisions of the partnership include the exchange of experiences between the two parties, the organization of activities, training workshops, camps and joint scientific posts in various national and societal events, in addition to cooperation in the areas of publishing, publications and educational means related to astronomy and scouts and work to form broader partnerships with the relevant authorities to enhance the added value of the two parties and support marketing and investment efforts in scientific and awareness activities.
