Dubai Roads perform a package of quick traffic improvements

Dubai on July 1/ WAM/ The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has completed a package of rapid traffic improvements, with the aim of enhancing the link between Sheikh Zayed Street and Al -Khail Street through Al -Midan Street.

The improvements included the expansion of a way out from Sheikh Zayed Street to Al -Midan Street from one path to two tracks, and the expansion of the bridge above the first horse street from 3 to 4 tracks in both directions, which raised the capacity from 4,500 to 6000 vehicles per hour, and contributed to reducing the transit time during the peak by 40%.

The exit No. (D69) was expanded towards the horse and field streets from track to two tracks, which doubled the capacity to 3000 vehicles per hour, and the flight time reduced by 40%, and waiting queens by 50%.

The improvements included the expansion of linking connections between the surface and bridge above the first horse street from one path to two tracks, which helped reduce congestion and improve the flow of movement by more than 50%, especially during the afternoon and evening periods.

This achievement comes within the strategic plan of the Authority to implement more than 75 traffic improvement in vital areas of Dubai during the year 2025, in order to enhance the efficiency of the road network and support the quality of life in the emirate, and contributes to the establishment of Dubai’s position in a world leading city in infrastructure and sustainable transport.
