“Fly Dubai” lay the foundation stone for the aircraft maintenance center

Fly Dubai Airlines laid the foundation stone for the new aircraft maintenance center in Dubai South.
Flydubai said in a statement that this new facility, which cost millions of dollars, is scheduled to be completed in the last quarter of 2026, will give the carrier greater flexibility in control operations and accelerate the pace of maintenance work for its growing fleet.
She explained that the aircraft maintenance center extends over an area of 32 thousand and 600 square meters, and includes a barn for aircraft, workshops and support, and offices, to reflect the commitment of “flydubai” to enhance its internal capabilities, and its development as a growing carrier with the expansion and network of its fleet.
The CEO of Dubai Air City and Dubai South, Khalifa Al -Zafin, said: “We are proud to witness the laying of the foundation stone for the new fly Dubai aircraft maintenance in (Dubai South), which is a prominent achievement, which reflects the continuous growth of the company and the development of its operational operations.”
He added, “This facility strengthens our commitment to supporting the aviation sector in Dubai through an advanced infrastructure, and strengthening the emirate’s position as a leading global aviation center.”
For his part, Ghaith Al -Ghaith, CEO of Fly Dubai, said: “This investment represents a milestone in the (flydubai) march. Since the launch of our operations in 2009, we have made a great way to linking Dubai to the world and paying the innovation wheel, and the creation and development of new aircraft maintenance barns will contribute to a major role in the next stage of the growth march in the carrier.”
He added: «This investment is a strategic step towards supporting our increasing requirements and capabilities in the field of maintenance, while we receive more planes. This step also confirms our continuous commitment to innovation and operational efficiency, and support Dubai’s position as a global axis in the field of aviation and its leadership in business.
“Flydubai” signed an agreement with the “Mohammed Bin Rashid Aviation Project” to establish the first plane maintenance center dedicated to it during the “Dubai Air Exhibition 2023”. The maintenance center will be located near Al Maktoum International Airport, which is expected to become the largest airport in the world upon completion, and the new maintenance center is designed to support the ambitious growth plans of the flydubai company, and will include a growing team of 600 qualified engineers working in ground maintenance, technical services, materials and workshops, to ensure the highest safety standards for the Fly Dubai Fleet and its operational efficiency.
The Fly Dubai signed at the Dubai Aviation Show 2023 on its fourth order to buy 30 Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and today it occupies a new and effective fleet consisting of Boeing 737 aircraft, and the company is expected to receive more than 120 Boeing 737 Max aircraft during the next decade.
