South Korea, the second world in shipbuilding requests in June

On July 4 / WAM / Industrial data showed on Friday that South Korea ranked second in the world in new shipbuilding requests in June.

The South Korean shipbuilding companies won requests of 1.05 million tons, a total of eighteen ships, which represents 41% of the global total of 2.56 million tons of compensation total last month, according to London -based Clarkson.

China ranked first with 53% of the global total.

In terms of accumulated requests, China ranked first with 96.82 million tons of compensation total, or 59% of the global total of 163.37 million tons of compensation total by the end of June, while South Korea came second with 35.42 million tons of the total compensation, which represents 22% of the total.

The Clarkson Index for New Ship Building Prices, a measure of newly built ship price changes, reached 187.11 points last month, an increase of 0.42 points from last year.
