"The second heritage conference" In Sharjah it is recommended to document the literature of the trip globally

Sharjah on July 5 / WAM / The “Second Heritage Conference” organized by the Sharjah Institute of Heritage recommended under the slogan “Folklore in the Children of the Other” at the Arab Heritage Center of the Institute in the University City in Sharjah at the conclusion of its work yesterday with a number of scientific and cultural recommendations that contribute to the development of studies related to journey literature and the representations of the other in folklore.
The participants called for re -reading the writings of travelers and orientalists according to the contemporary scientific criticism curricula with the contract of analytical comparisons between groups of travelers for each geographical region and for close periods of time in order to extract a more realistic image and compare it with local studies if available.
They also stressed the importance of establishing applied laboratories to translate Western research and studies on journey literature and form scientific committees to consider travelers that have not yet been translated, such as Russian literature.
Also among the recommendations is the call to extend the conference days to three days instead of two days and publish research and studies presented during a scientific book, as well as preparing an electronic library that includes the works of travelers and orientalists and a specialized database for researchers, translators and literature in this field.
The recommendations also included stimulating critical studies that deal with the representations of the other for folklore through multiple approaches that include anthropology, narratives and post -colonial studies in addition to studying the interaction between oral and spoken culture as described by travelers and the accountability of ideological and cognitive backgrounds from which their representations were launched and trying to dismantle self -positions and the other in those writings.
Dr. Abdulaziz Al -Muslim, head of the Sharjah Heritage Institute, said that the recommendations that the second heritage conference came out with our vision at the Sharjah Institute of Heritage, which is to consolidate awareness of the importance of reading popular heritage from multiple angles, especially through what the travelers and orientalists wrote. We have sought through this conference to create a critical knowledge dialogue with these blogs that opens new horizons for self -understanding and the other and promotes the presence of our heritage in our heritage The global cultural space in a scientific spirit and objective approach.
