Dubai Chamber organizes the Dubai Beijing Business Forum

Dubai, July 8 / WAM / The Chamber of Dubai today organized the Dubai – Beijing Business Forum with the aim of enhancing investment and commercial partnerships, creating new economic opportunities between Dubai and Beijing, and stimulating bilateral cooperation in various fields and sectors.
The forum was held at the headquarters of Dubai Chambers in partnership with the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Beijing in the presence of an official Chinese delegation headed by Sima Hong, Vice -Mayor of Beijing, His Excellency Mohamed Ali Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, His Excellency Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, and the participation of 130 businessmen and representatives of the private sector in Dubai and China.
We are committed to expanding the scope of economic and investment relations between Dubai and Beijing in various sectors, and we are keen to support the Chinese business community to take advantage of the promising opportunities provided by Dubai to the growth and expansion of companies at the regional and global levels, in conjunction with the strengthening of partnerships and joint work between business societies in Dubai and Beijing.
Salem Al Shamsi, Vice President of International Relations in Dubai Chambers, presented an extensive introductory presentation during the symposium in which he reviewed the economic scene in Dubai, the competitive advantages provided by the emirate to companies and investors in addition to joint business opportunities between Dubai and China and the promising sectors of trade and investment between the two parties.
The symposium highlighted the growth of the trade and investment movement between Dubai and China, as the value of non -oil inter -trade during the past year amounted to about 296.3 billion dirhams, with an annual growth of 19%, while the total number of active Chinese companies registered in the membership of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce at the end of June of this year reached more than 6,000 companies, which reflects the growing interest in Dubai as a global business destination.
In an indication of the depth of links between Dubai and China, the Dubai Chambers chose to organize the first international session of the Dubai Business Forum in China, and the event was held during the past year in Beijing under the slogan “cross -border economic partnerships” during which the promising prospects and competitive ingredients enjoyed by the Dubai economy, in addition to the most prominent strategic initiatives and projects in the emirate that provide qualitative investment opportunities for the Chinese and international business community.
On the sidelines of the activities of the forum at the time, a memorandum of understanding with the Chinese Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Beijing, with the aim of supporting the expansion of trade relations and strengthening bilateral ties between business societies to achieve common goals.
