The annual report of the performance of the tourism sector in Dubai, issued by the Department of Economy and Tourism, confirmed the continued balance in the growth of the hotel market in the emirate, with expectations that the number of hotel rooms in Dubai reach 158 thousand and 845 hotel rooms by the end of this year 2025, (which is about 4.8 thousand new hotel rooms), supported by an increase of 3% in the number of four -star hotels.
In detail, the annual report of the Dubai Economy and Tourism Department showed that Dubai has strengthened its position as one of the most dynamic hotel markets in the world, thanks to its ability to keep pace with the increasing demand by diversifying the supply through luxury and medium hospitality categories, as well as long stays.
According to the annual report data issued by the department, the total number of hotel rooms in Dubai at the end of 2024 reached about 154 thousand rooms distributed over 832 hotel establishments, compared to 150 thousand and 291 rooms in 2023, putting the emirate in the ranks of major global cities in terms of the total number of rooms, along with the British capital London, and exceeding a major cities such as: New York, Bangkok, Los Angeles, Paris, Singapore, Istanbul.

The “Economy and Tourism” report in Dubai confirmed that the data of the “STR” organization specializing in research and hotel consulting showed that the emirate is still providing more competitive daily prices than the cities of counterparts such as London, Paris, New York, and Singapore, which enhances its position in various segments of visitors, pointing out that the strong performance of the sector is supported by a set of distinctive hotel openings during 2024, contributed to it. The report revealed that the expectations indicate a continued balance in the growth of the sector with expectations that the number of hotel rooms in Dubai reach 158 thousand and 845 rooms by the end of the year 2025, supported by an increase of 3% in the number of hotels in the four -star hotels, which is expected to add 2215 new rooms.
He explained that the emirate received a record number of international tourists during the year 2024, an increase of 9% compared to 2023.
He continued: “The continuous growth of Dubai’s economy has resulted from a coherent strategy that focuses on the future, based on a global infrastructure, unique and attractive attractions, and an increasing flow of foreign direct investments, which strengthened the global competitiveness of the city.”
The report pointed out that tourism continues in Dubai its ambitious career towards higher levels with a focus on sustainability as a basic component of this vision, pointing to the obtaining of 153 hotels on “sustainable tourism seal” during the year 2024, after completing 19 standards of sustainability criteria approved by the department.
