Coach Ancelotti was imprisoned for a year due to tax fraud

A Spanish court said in a statement, today, that it has imprisoned the Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of the Brazil national football team, for a period of lack of payment of taxes on the income of the rights of photo when he was a coach of Real Madrid in the local first division in 2014.

Ancelotti, who managed Real Madrid between 2013 and 2015 and between 2021 and 2025, obtained the innocence of a similar charge for 2015, as the court was unable to prove his stay in Spain for a sufficient period to carry tax obligations. He moved to London after his dismissal from Real Madrid training in May 2015.

The text of the Spanish law rarely requires the implementation of the prison sentence for less than two years for any accused in a crime that is not related to violence, as long as it has not been convicted before.

The former Bayern Munich coach, Milan and Chelsea are the latest football -related figures to be investigated and convicted by the Spanish tax authorities on charges of tax evasion.
