"Emirates Aluminum" Inaugurate the experimental project for smart melting technology

Abu Dhabi, July 11 / WAM / Emirates International Aluminum Company launched the recent reduction cell within the experimental company for smart melting technology from the new generation at the Tawila site, in a preliminary move to adopt it on a large scale in the future.

The experimental project is an essential pillar to support the company’s future growth and consolidate its pioneering position in the field of melting technologies worldwide. EX technology is the tenth generation of son -in -law developed by the company, and it has been designed to increase aluminum production while reducing energy consumption and emissions.

Hamid Al -Shammari, Chairman of the Emirates International Aluminum Company, said that EX technology enhances the UAE global status of aluminum as a leading company in the aluminum industry sector in the world, stressing their aspiration for the adoption of this technology in the company’s upcoming project in Oklahoma, which will be the first new anti -aluminum production facility in the United States since 1980.

He explained that tests using alumina repeated from the bauxite imported from several countries will be made to prove the flexibility and ability of technology for the global application.

For his part, Abdel Nasser Bin Kalban, CEO of Emirates International Aluminum Company, stressed that the experimental project of the new EX technology is a strategic step for the company, and the latest achievements of “Emirates aluminum” leading throughout its long history in the field of technological innovation, explaining that the performance of EX’s reduction cells during the first weeks of the initial operating stage exceeded expectations, which reflects the great capabilities of technology.

Work began to establish the ten experimental cells of this technology in late 2024, and the first cell began to work in mid -June. Emirates International Aluminum Company has developed its own techniques in aluminum smelting inside the country for more than 30 years, and used it in all stages of expansion of its mosques since the 1990s and modernizing all old production lines to ensure the highest levels of efficiency.

The company began developing smelting technologies since 1980, which helped it reduce the electricity needed to produce every ton of aluminum by 37.5%, and in 2016 the Emirates International Aluminum Company became the first Emirati industrial company to license its technologies for aluminum melting at the international level, through an agreement with Aluminum Bahrain to use DX+ Ultra technology in the project of expanding the sixth melting line of the Bahraini company.

The company is working to adopt the latest technologies of the fourth industrial revolution in the sector within the experimental project, and launched the digital transformation initiative in 2021 to enhance its competitiveness and reduce production costs and face challenges and improve safety and sustainability, and also implemented more than 80 applications for the fourth industrial revolution technologies and achieved financial effects of approximately $ 100 million.
