The Council of Qatrat in Fujairah is discussing "Calculate the lesson between the past and the present"
Fujairah on July 12 / WAM / The Council of Mohammed bin Hamad Al -Sharqi, in cooperation with the Fujairah Foundation for District Development, organized an awareness cultural session entitled “The Dream Account between the Past and the Present”, in the Qatrat Council.
The session was presented by His Excellency Nasser Al -Yamahi, Executive Director of the Fujairah Culture and Information Authority, which highlighted the importance of introducing the “Dur” system, and documenting this ancient cultural heritage, as one of the traditional practices that formed part of the collective awareness in the UAE society, and contributed to organizing people’s lives over time.
Al -Yamahi touched on a number of fundamental axes, which included a comprehensive definition of the concept of “Al -Dur”, the types and divisions of the drums, the most important features of the days of the Dur, and the relationship between the calculation of the drone and the popular heritage of poems and proverbs, in addition to how to move with this knowledge to the modern era using modern technical means to preserve and transfer them.
His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Naea Al -Tunaiji, Director of the Council of Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi, stressed that this session comes within the series of cultural and awareness meetings organized by the Council in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Muhammad Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah, aimed at reviving popular heritage, promoting national identity, and documenting traditional knowledge with modern methods that contribute to promoting societal awareness.
The session witnessed a remarkable presence of the people of the region and those interested in heritage and culture, amid a noticeable interaction that reflects the increasing interest in reviving the Emirati heritage and setting it to future generations.
