Moscow warns Washington, Sahl and Tokyo for forming a security coalition against North Korea

The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, warned the United States, South Korea and Japan yesterday of the formation of a security partnership targeting North Korea, during his visit to the allied state of his country, where he held talks aimed at enhancing military cooperation and other forms of growing cooperation between the two countries.

Lavrov from the city of “Wonsan”, in eastern North Korea, spoke, where he met the country’s leader, Kim Jong Un, and conveyed the greetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

For his part, Kim Jong Un affirmed, during the meeting, his government’s commitment to “supporting and encouraging all measures” that Russia takes in its conflict with Ukraine “without restriction or condition.”

The official North Korean Central News Agency reported that Pyongyang and Moscow are sharing identical views on “all strategic issues in line with the level of the alliance.”

The agency reported that Lavrov called on the two countries to increase the strengthening of their “strategic and tactical cooperation, and the intensification of coordinated work” in international affairs.

Relations between Moscow and Pyongyang have witnessed prosperity in the past years, as North Korea has provided Russia with soldiers and ammunition to support its war in Ukraine, in exchange for military and economic aid, and this cooperation raised concerns in South Korea and the United States and other countries that Russia may transfer sensitive technologies to North Korea.

In statements he made to reporters after his meeting with his North Korean counterpart, Choi Sun Hui, Lavrov accused the United States, South Korea and Japan of what he described as “military reinforcements” in the vicinity of North Korea.

“We warn against exploiting these relations to form alliances against any party, including North Korea, and of course Russia,” said Lavrov, according to the official Russian agency “TASS”.

The three countries have intensified: the United States, South Korea and Japan, from joint military training, or revived, in response to the progress of the North Korea nuclear program, and the three countries conducted a joint air training, in which American bombers who were able to carry nuclear weapons near the Korean peninsula participated, while senior military leaders of the three countries in Seoul met, and urged North Korea to stop all its illegal activities that It threatens regional security.

During their meeting, Choi repeated that North Korea supports “unconditionally or condition” what was called Russia’s struggle against Ukraine, while Lavrov repeated Russia’s gratitude for the North Korean forces’ contribution to the efforts of repelling the Ukrainian incursion into the Russian border “Corsak” region.

It is noteworthy that North Korea has recently opened a huge beach resort in the city of “Wonsan”, the location of the meeting, which says that it can accommodate 20 thousand people, and in his comments at the beginning of his meeting with Choi, Lavrov said: “I am sure that Russian tourists will be more keen to come here, we will do everything in our power to facilitate this, and create conditions for that, including air travel.”
