A researcher from the Emirates University harvested 4 patents in the design of medicines and medical devices

Al -Ain, July 14/ WAM/ The United Arab Emirates University announced that Dr. Alia Orabi, a researcher in the university’s computing field, has obtained four innovative patents, which represent specific achievements in the design of medicines and the development of medical devices, and reflects its distinction in linking computing sciences, quantitative principles and engineering, as well as an emerging application of artificial intelligence.

Two patents are focused on developing new solutions in the field of drug design. The first patent provides a technique for classifying molecular wives according to its interaction with proteins in the human body, while the second patent provides an effective tool for matching the wives between different particles, allowing them to interact in a similar way with biological proteins.

Dr. Orabi said: “These methods are innovative developments in the design of medicines using computing, as they contribute to accelerating the discovery of medicines and reducing dependence on expensive laboratory experiments, which makes the research more efficient.

As for the third innocence, it is a qualitative shift in the field of bone medicine, and it was developed in cooperation with Professor Bassem Al -Hassan from Massachusetts General Hospital (Harvard University College), and Engineer Ali Orabi.

This innovative device and the accompanying method enables it patients with complete paralysis of the shoulder to restore the entire range of movement, which was impossible in extreme cases.

As for the fourth innocence, which is participated in the development of Eng. Ali Orabi, it is exposed to a new vital medical solution that addresses two common health challenges: the male infertility resulting from reflux and incontinence.

This double function device is an advanced step in the fields of reproductive health and urinary tract.

Dr. Orabi said: “These innovations embody the fruit of a convergence between scientific curiosity and advanced technology, supported by practical thinking aimed at solving realistic challenges. The next challenge is to transform these initial models into applicable products and benefit from them in practice.”

For his part, His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to His Highness the President of the State, Supreme President of the United Arab Emirates University, praised Dr. Orabi .. He said: “These patents are a prominent product of the spirit of scientific innovation and excellence that we adopt at the United Arab Emirates University, that Dr. Orabi’s ability to link specializations, from computing sciences to medicine and engineering, highlights the strength of the university as a comprehensive pivotal research center.”

His Excellency added: “These accomplishments not only contribute to enhancing the global position of the university, but also contribute to improving the health and well -being of societies all over the world. The warmest congratulations to Dr. Orabi and her colleagues on their pioneering contributions and their embodiment of the university’s message in improving life through knowledge.”
