Gaza: The confirmation of the killing of 875 people while trying to get food in recent weeks

A spokesman for the UN Office, the precious master of Mr. Al -Khaitan, told reporters in Geneva today, Tuesday, that the rest of the 2018 victims were killed while searching for food “on the methods of relief convoys or near it” run by the United Nations or its partners who are still working in the sector.
“Human City”
In response to journalists ’questions about the so -called “Human City” In Rafah, Mr. Al -Khaitan said that this proposal – in addition to invitations to the voluntary transfer of the Palestinians in Gaza to third countries – “It raises concerns about forced deportation.” Add AThe creation of a human city like this “It is in itself a problem, and it raises concerns about more forced displacement.”
He explained that men and women of certain age groups may be more vulnerable to arbitrary detention. He also expressed concern about the disappearances, the dispersion of families, and the lack of freedom of movement. He added that the accumulation of thousands of people in a small area will increase the difficulties in distributing aid.
He said: “Of course, we cannot talk about any voluntary movement for people from Gaza to third countries, because in order for the movement to be voluntary, we must give people the option to stay in Gaza in terms of living conditions, and after that we can discuss whether they can choose or not.”
More orders of displacement
This comes at a time when the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said that the Israeli army continues to issue displacement orders and ask the Palestinians to move to the very crowded Mawsi Khan Yunis area and lack the basic necessities of survival.
According to the OCHA office, the displacement orders issued today cover about nine square kilometers, and include 11 neighborhoods throughout the governorates of Gaza and northern Gaza, where at least 120,000 people reside there.
UN spokesman Stephen Dujarric said at the daily press conference: “We can only emphasize the need to protect civilians, including those who have fled and forced to leave through displacement orders, as well as those who decide to stay.” Dujarric also indicated that food insecurity is exacerbated.
Fuel crisis and arrival obstacles
Regarding the fuel crisis, the Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said that the Israeli authorities continue to allow the entry of limited fuel supplies, as the rate so far reached about 75,000 liters per working day, and nothing was allowed to enter on Friday or Saturday, and the delay was about a day or two before the fuel was received from the Palestinian side of the Karam Abu Salem crossing.
The office affirmed that there is an urgent need for hundreds of thousands of liters of fuel daily to maintain the continuation of life -saving services inside Gaza.
The office also stated that the tasks planned by our partners to provide aid and services are still facing great challenges in arrival, as many of them are completely rejected or obstructed by a long and difficult coordination process.
He cautioned that the restricted operational environment makes it increasingly difficult to provide basic humanitarian services, including food, shelter, health care, water, sanitation, protection and education, warning that all this already increases the catastrophic situation.
The United Nations spokesman has repeated the call to the Israeli authorities to allow the facilitation of a safe and without obstacles to humanitarian and commercial supplies to Gaza, and to do this quickly and on the necessary scope to help people.
High feeding rates among children in Gaza
In turn, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) warned that the increasing number of children in need of nutritional treatment threatening to dump the health system already destroyed in Gaza, where the rates of malnutrition continue to rise “since the siege is tightened four months ago.”
This is what was stated by the agency’s director of communication and media, Juliet Touma, while talking to reporters in Geneva from the Jordanian capital, Amman. She said that one out of every ten children suffering from malnutrition, out of 240,000 children under the age of five had been examined by UNRWA’s health teams since January 2024. “Sharp malnutrition was rare in the Gaza Strip.”
Mrs. Toma gave an example of dreams, an eight -month -old baby girl suffering from severe malnutrition. She said: “Despite the care of the UNRWA health teams, its condition is constantly deteriorating. Like many other children in Gaza, its immune system was damaged by the trauma, continuous forced displacement, clean water shortage, poor hygiene and lack of food.”
Although UNRWA is still the largest humanitarian organization in Gaza, it has been prevented from introducing any humanitarian aid to Gaza since May 2, according to Mrs. Toma, noting that medicines, food supplies, hygiene and fuel materials “All of them are quickly implemented.”
She said: “With the spread of malnutrition among children across the sector, UNRWA has more than 6,000 trucks of food, hygiene and medicine supplies outside Gaza. They are all awaiting entry.”
The Director of Communication and Media explained that UNRWA trucks are loaded with humanitarian supplies, including food, hygiene and medicine supplies. And I warned that medicines and food would expire soon “If we cannot deliver this supplies to the inhabitants of Gaza, who are in need of them, including a million children representing half of the residents of the Gaza Strip.”
Aid aid system
Juliet Toma said that the United Nations, including UNRWA, provided widespread aid and dignity during the ceasefire, “Through this system, we were able to reverse the exacerbation of starvation, including among children. This effective system has been replaced by another system that harvested more lives than it saves it.”
Despite all the challenges and financial crisis facing the agency, Mrs. Toma confirmed that UNRWA employees continue their activities throughout the occupied Palestinian land. She said that UNRWA’s health teams provided an average of 15,000 health consultations per day in Gaza, and it has provided water to 1.3 million people in the sector this year, adding that hundreds of thousands of people are still in need of UNRWA facilities.
The continued killing and harassment in the West Bank
As for the situation in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, the High Commissioner for Human Rights has reported that the Israeli settlers and security forces intensified during the past weeks “killings, attacks and harassment” against the Palestinians, which contributed to “consolidating” the annexation of the occupied land, in a flagrant violation of international law.
Since the start of the Israeli “Iron Wall” operation in the northern occupied West Bank earlier this year, about 30,000 Palestinians have been forcibly displaced, as Israeli forces launched live ammunition to Palestinians who were isolated, including those who tried to return to their homes in the Jenin, Tulkarm and Nour Shams camps for refugees.
The UNHCR spokesman said the Israeli security forces “I have often used an unnecessary or incompatible force, including deadly power, against Palestinians who have not posed an imminent threat to life.”
About a thousand Palestinians have been killed since October
He pointed out that since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces and settlers have killed at least 964 Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, including the two -year -old girl Laila Al -Khatib, who was shot on her head while she was inside her house in the village of Al -Shuhada in Jenin.
He added that in the same period, 53 Israelis were killed in Palestinian attacks or in armed clashes, 35 of whom in the West Bank and 18 in Israel. Mr. Al -Khaitan warned that the United Nations recorded the highest monthly outcome of Palestinian injuries in the West Bank more than two decades in June.
He said that since the “Iron Wall” operation began, the Israeli security forces issued demolition orders to about 1,400 homes in the occupied West Bank, and warned that if these widespread operations were not necessary for military purposes, they violate Israel’s obligations as an occupied power. Add: “The permanent displacement of the civilian population within the occupied land is up to the level of illegal transport, which is a serious violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention, and it may also rise, according to the circumstances, to the level of a crime against humanity.”

Call to hold accountable those responsible for violations
The UNHCR spokesman said that Israel must immediately stop killings, harassment and demolition of homes throughout the occupied Palestinian land. He added: “As the occupied force, Israel must take all possible measures to ensure public order and safety in the West Bank. It is obligated to protect the Palestinians from settlers’ attacks and end the illegal use of force by its security forces.”
Mr. Al -Khaitan stressed the need to conduct comprehensive, independent and transparent investigations in all killings and other alleged violations of international law, adding that those responsible should be held accountable. He said that Israel must end its illegal presence in the occupied Palestinian land, in line with the consultative opinion issued by the International Court of Justice.
