In its last update today, Wednesday, the office reported that, this morning, the killing or injury of dozens in one of the Israeli military centers to distribute aid. He added that during the past week, serious injuries continued to report.
The World Health Organization reported that a 21 -year -old was paralyzed for life after suffering a bullet while trying to get a flour bag from a military center.
Weak groups face many risks
Meanwhile, Ocha office warned that the most famous hostility of hostilities has increased risks to the most vulnerable groups, including persons with disabilities and the elderly, who are struggling to get what they need to survive, and are isolated.
The OCHA office said that more than 80% of people with disabilities in Gaza lost their wheelchairs, hearing devices, walks, and other auxiliary devices, according to a survey conducted by a partner humanitarian organization.
With their movement restricting, vulnerable people face many challenges, including the deprivation of obtaining humanitarian aid, discrimination, stigmatization, and exposure to explosive ammunition.
Mothers are starving
In turn, the United Nations Population Fund warned of the increase in domestic violence, exploitation and sexual assault, adding that many safe spaces that provide shelter, psychological support and adaptation mechanisms for women and girls have closed their doors or operate with a low energy.
The Fund stated that the conditions in Gaza are tragic for women and girls, as pregnant women give birth in the dark, without electricity and specialized sponsorship to treat potential complications, and thousands of mothers are starving.
For its part, MSF reported that it had provided treatment for more than 1,200 pregnant and breastfeeding women and a child suffering from acute and medium malnutrition in its clinics in Al -Ma’idah and Gaza City. The organization explained that between the months of May and July, the number of registered people to receive treatment in its clinic in Gaza City has doubled four times, including hundreds of children under the age of two.
People sleep in the open
The Humanitarian Coordination Office said that despite the entry of small quantities of fuel to Gaza yesterday, Tuesday, through the Karam Abu Salem crossing, the sharp shortage of fuel supplies is still threatening to stop vital operations, such as hospitals, services, medical equipment, communications, water, sanitation and hygiene facilities.
The office stressed the urgent need for hundreds of thousands of liters of fuel daily to alleviate the crisis and address the deteriorating situation.
He stated that the United Nations partners yesterday rehabilitated a well in an attempt to address the severe shortage of water, noting that although this will support patients and medical staff with hundreds of cubic meters per day, it is not sufficient to meet the needs of people.
The OCHA office also said that after four months of comprehensive Israeli restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza, almost all displacement sites reported that people sleep in the open without any protection.
He recalled that no shelter has entered during this period, calling once again the necessity of ending this catastrophic situation, as the ceasefire was prolonged.
For his part, United Nations spokesman, Stephen Dujarric, said at the press conference today: “We need huge amounts of humanitarian aid to enter Gaza now, and we need to see the release of all hostages now.”.
