"Dubai International Financial" He announces amendments to some of his legislations

Dubai, July 16 / WAM / The Dubai International Financial Center issued amendments to some legislation through the law amending the Dubai International Financial Center laws, Law No. 1 of 2005.
According to a press release issued today, this includes amendments to the Data Protection Law to provide additional protection and rights to litigation for data owners at the Dubai International Financial Center, and these legislative amendments are made clarifications to ensure that the center’s laws are paid to best international practices.
The center made amendments to the Data Protection Law, with the aim of introducing the right to litigate through the courts of the Dubai International Financial Center, which enhances the legal rights and measures available to data owners whose personal data has been processed in contravention of the Data Protection Law.
Additional explanatory amendments were made, including adjustments to the application of the data protection law and its scope outside the region, and updating Article 28 regarding data exchange to clarify the extent of the reference to assess the extent of the third countries’ suitability to receive personal data.
Some clarification amendments were issued regarding the Warranty Law and the Banking and Work Law.
The amendment law was issued on July 8, 2025 and entered into force on July 15, 2025.
