The UAE condemns the targeting of a church in Gaza and stresses the need to protect the holy places and civilians

The UAE condemned and condemned in the strongest terms the Israeli army targeting the Church of the Holy Family in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of people, which constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, warning against the ongoing attacks and Israeli military escalation, which threatens to exacerbate the catastrophic human tragedy in the Strip.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the UAE’s refusal to target civilians, holy places and civil institutions, and to abuse it, stressing the need not to be a target of the conflict.

The Ministry called on the international community to enhance all regional and international efforts to find a serious political horizon that contributes to achieving a comprehensive peace, on the basis of the two -state solution, and achieves the hopes and aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people in building an independent sovereign state, in accordance with the relevant international legitimacy decisions.
