A large -scale forest fire sweeps southern France

More than a thousand firefighters are struggling for the second consecutive day, the flames around the coastal city of Martge, near Marseille, following a large -scale forest fire that swept the areas of southern France.

The relevant French authorities said today that the fire that broke out last night spanned an area of 240 hectares due to the wind speed, noting that 150 people were evacuated to safe places with a temporary closure of several roads.
