Declaration of principles in Doha paves the way for a permanent peace in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

The Secretary -General – in a statement attributed to his spokesman Stephen Dujarric – praised this important step, which he said opened a path towards permanent peace and security and the return of the displaced and refugees.
The Secretary -General urged all parties to ensure the rapid implementation of the obligatory obligations, expressing his appreciation to the State of Qatar to facilitate this process. Guterres said that the United Nations remains committed to supporting efforts to achieve peace, protect civilians and stability in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, in close cooperation with national authorities and regional and international partners.
In turn, said Mr. Bruno Limarkis, Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary -General and Vice President of the United Nations Mission to Stabilize in the Democratic Republic of the Congo: “This important declaration is a shift towards alleviating tensions and protecting civilians severely affected by the conflict. We commend the obligations that have been pledged and we call for their implementation in a timely manner and in good faith.”
