المملكة: Repeated provocations at Al-Aqsa Mosque undermine chances for peace

His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the Italian capital, Rome, today, in the high-level meeting for interfaith dialogue held within the framework of the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Plan, headed by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic, Antonio Taiani, and with the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the State of Palestine, Farsin Aghabekian Shaheen, and the member states of the Global Alliance to Implement the Two-State Solution and international partners.
His Highness delivered a speech during the meeting in which he stressed that dialogue between followers of religions has become a strategic necessity and a basic pillar for building a just and lasting peace, noting that the heavenly religions are based on the values ​​of human dignity, justice and peaceful coexistence, and that permanent security cannot be achieved while depriving others of their legitimate rights.

Settler terrorism

His Highness pointed to the unique status of the city of Jerusalem among Muslims, Christians and Jews, stressing the Kingdom’s rejection of all attempts aimed at changing the existing historical and legal status in Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sanctities, and warning of repeated provocations in Al-Aqsa Mosque, attacks on sanctities, and measures that inflame religious tensions and undermine the chances of peace.
His Highness stressed the need to immediately stop settler terrorism against the Palestinian people, which is committed with the protection or support of the Israeli security forces, and hold those responsible accountable, stressing that the continuation of illegal settlement expansion violates the rights of the Palestinian people to life, security, dignity and self-determination, and undermines the foundations of peace and the opportunities to achieve security and stability.

Banning settlement products

His Highness appreciated the measures taken by a number of international partners, including banning the import of settlement products, imposing sanctions on those responsible for gross human rights violations against Palestinians, and imposing restrictions on the entry of settlers involved in acts of violence, calling for further steps that enhance accountability and stress that these violations cannot pass without consequences.
At the conclusion of his speech, His Highness affirmed the Kingdom’s continued work with the United States of America, the State of Palestine, and other international partners, to implement the comprehensive peace plan of His Excellency US President Donald Trump, Security Council Resolution No. (2803), and the New York Declaration, including the implementation of Clause Eighteen of the plan, related to launching a path for interfaith dialogue based on the values ​​of tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
The meeting was attended by Minister Plenipotentiary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Manal bint Hassan Radwan.
