Dubai Culture won the Innovation Award for the impact of the International Telecommunication Union

Dubai, July 21/ WAM/ Dubai Culture and Arts Authority won the Innovation Award for Impact in the Smart City category during the Summit of Artificial Intelligence for the Public Reception organized by the United Nations International Telecommunication Union and digital technology.

The authority culminated in its efforts in employing artificial intelligence techniques to protect cultural heritage through the project to survey and explore artificial intelligence in the archaeological site of Sarouk Iron in cooperation with Khalifa University of Science and Technology.

The project was chosen as one of the winning status studies and was included in the final report of the International Telecommunication Union and was reviewed during the innovation session for the impact on the summit that brought together a group of innovation leaders around the world.

The project used remote sensing techniques and geophysical survey, such as the hacturnary radar of the Earth, the magnetic scan, and high -resolution topographic maps, which resulted in more than 2,500 reading indicating the possibility of milestones and pieces of archaeological value.

The award is highlighted by Dubai Culture Legacy in integrating innovation in the cultural sector and contributes to supporting the sustainable development goals adopted by the United Nations and reflects the commitment of the authority to enable talents and consolidate Dubai’s position as a global capital of culture and knowledge.

His Excellency Hala Badri, Director General of the Authority, emphasized that the honor reflects Dubai’s commitment to culture to adopt future technologies to preserve heritage and enhance its global presence through smart, non -interventional tools that preserve and promote the past.

Mona Al -Gurg, CEO of the Museum and Heritage Sector, explained that the project reflects an active partnership between heritage and innovation, stressing the importance of cooperation with strategic partners to re -perceive the ways to protect and present cultural heritage in advanced ways.

The Summit of Artificial Intelligence for the public good formed a global platform to explore the role of artificial intelligence in promoting development with the wide participation of United Nations organizations and international parties.
