Episode 3 of the Film Cash Conference is launched under the slogan “Cinema .. Art of Place”

Continuing to develop the cultural structure of the film industry in the Kingdom, the Film Authority announced the launch of the third session of the Film Monetary Conference and its forums, under the slogan “Cinema .. Art of the Place”, in three cultural stations along the Kingdom, including the Asir region in August, and Qatif Governorate in October, and concludes in November in the capital Riyadh.
The conference reflects the commitment of the commission to build a critical scene that transcends the traditional concept of events to establishing an interactive cognitive structure that brings together critics, researchers, filmmakers, and emerging Saudi talents through a comprehensive program that includes cognitive sessions, applied workshops, and specialized technical exhibitions.

Opening the prospects for cinematic dialogue

The version of this year bears the slogan “Cinema .. The Art of the Place”, so that the conference opens a horizon for dialogue on the mutual relationship between the cinema and the place, as a relationship of consolidation of identity, narrative representation, and visual contemplation, so that each other enrichs each other historically.
The conference will review the embodiment of the place in the cinema as a symbol and a mirror of reality, or as a window, which opens a wide door for various monetary and philosophical approaches.
The conference represents a dialogue space that contributes to developing the workmanship of cinematic criticism in the Kingdom and the region, and opening windows communicating with global experiences, with a focus on enabling a new generation of writers and critics through training programs and systematic professional practices.
It also seeks to build sustainable bridges between practitioners and academics, and to enhance the cinematic culture of the public by considering criticism as a fundamental part of the development of industry.

Criticism and the cinema industry

Through its convening in various cultural areas around the Kingdom, the conference embodies the vision of the Film Authority in making cinematic criticism an active element of the local cinema industry, not just an activity processed for it.
It is worth noting that the previous version witnessed a presence of more than 10,000 visitors from more than 30 countries, with the participation of more than 35 local and international destinations, as well as prominent critics, directors and researchers, and in its previous version, the conference continued to enhance its unique position as a platform that celebrates the cinematic movement in the region.
