Minister of Climate Change and Environment: The Liwa Wet Festival embodies the support of leadership for the agricultural sector

Al -Dhafra region on July 23 / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al -Dahhak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, confirmed that the Liwa Wet Festival embodies the support of the rational leadership of farmers, producers and manufacturers in the palm planting sector in particular, and the leadership of agricultural business in general, noting that the festival contributes to the development of the agricultural sector and enhances ways to achieve sustainable food security in the country.
Al -Dahhak said, during her visit to the activities of the twenty -first edition of the Liwa Wet Festival 2025 in the city of Liwa, Al Dhafra region, that the wide presence in the festival of governmental and private entities, owners of projects and productive families, stresses the importance of agriculture in the UAE as one of the most important engines of sustainable and comprehensive development, noting that the distinctive diversity in the cultivation of palm and fruit varieties shows the empowerment of farmers And adopt them for the best agricultural practices to provide high quality products.
During the visit, her Excellency was briefed on a part of the farmers’ participation in the Mazzina and Fruit competitions, and her Excellency, accompanied by His Excellency Obaid Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of the Festival and Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, Zayed Saari Al Mazrouei, director of the festival, the wings of governmental and private agencies participating, wet market, palm trees, agricultural tools, popular market and handicrafts at the festival.
It also witnessed an aspect of the various events targeting farmers, and was seen on the pavilion of the Ministry of Climate Change and the Environment, which reviews the most prominent initiatives of the Ministry, and provides a number of workshops and lectures for farmers and festival visitors, as the participation of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment comes as an affirmation of its commitment to the support of the sustainability of agricultural production and the enhancement of food security efforts.
