The Head of State and the President of the Republic of the Congo discuss by telephone cooperation relations and developments taking place in the region

Abu Dhabi, 29 March / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, discussed today, during a phone call he received from His Excellency Denis Sassou Nguesso, President of the Republic of the Congo, “Congo-Braziville”… developments in the situation in the region in light of the military escalation and its dangerous repercussions on regional and international security and peace, in addition to its effects on the security of international navigation and the global economy.
During the call, the two sides also discussed the ongoing Iranian terrorist aggression against the UAE and countries in the region, which targets civilians and civilian installations and infrastructure, as it represents a violation of the sovereignty of these countries and international laws and norms and an undermining of regional security and stability.
His Excellency condemned these terrorist attacks, stressing the solidarity of the Republic of the Congo with the UAE regarding the measures it is taking to defend its security and stability and ensure the safety of its lands, citizens, and residents.
The communication also discussed various aspects of cooperation and joint work and opportunities to develop them in a way that enhances mutual interests and serves development priorities within the framework of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries and the mutual keenness to achieve its goals.
His Highness the Head of State also congratulated His Excellency Denis Sassou Nguesso on the occasion of his re-election as President of the Congo in the recent elections, wishing him success in achieving his people’s aspirations for progress and prosperity. Meanwhile, the President of the Congo thanked His Highness and expressed his wishes for the relations of the two countries to further develop during the next stage.
