The 18th edition of the “Dubai Crown Prince Endurance Festival” will witness the launch of the “Al Yamama Mare Cup” tomorrow.

All eyes are on the Dubai International Endurance City in Saih Al Salam, where the activities of the eighteenth edition of His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai Endurance Festival will resume, organized by the Dubai Equestrian Club and in cooperation with the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, with the start of the “Al Yamamah Mare Cup” race tomorrow (Monday).

The festival is considered one of the most prominent stations of the endurance season, and is held to celebrate the great support given by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, to endurance sports, in which His Highness has achieved outstanding global achievements, and in appreciation of the great contributions that he continues to make to consolidate the UAE’s position in the fields of endurance, following the approach of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Chairman of the Council of Ministers. Ministers and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, in consolidating the high position that the UAE enjoys in the world of equestrian sports in general, and supporting endurance races with the aim of improving them at the local and international levels.

The first day of the festival witnessed the crowning of Emirati rider Sarah Mohammed Abdul Wahed with the title of the Dubai Crown Prince Endurance Cup for women, over a distance of 120 kilometers. The festival’s competitions will continue with the private stables race the day after tomorrow (Tuesday), while the festival will conclude on Wednesday, the first of April, with the main race, His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai Endurance Cup, sponsored by Emaar Properties, the primary partner of the Dubai Equestrian Club.

The organizing committee allocated financial prizes exceeding 5 million dirhams, which are distributed up to seventeenth place in the women’s and Al-Yamamah races, and up to thirtieth place in the private stables race and the main race.

On this occasion, Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmuk Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Equestrian Club, extended his deepest thanks and gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, for their continued support of equestrian sports, stressing that this support forms the basis for the development and prosperity of endurance sports, and explained that the eighteenth edition will be one of the strongest editions thanks to the great efforts made to provide a worthy event. In turn, Ahmed Rashid Al Kaabi, Director General of the Dubai Equestrian Club, confirmed that the Dubai Crown Prince Endurance Festival has established its position as one of the most prominent events on the map of global endurance races, noting that the new version of the festival continues to enhance this ancient legacy.
Dr. Ghanem Al Hajri, Secretary General of the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, also expressed his sincere thanks and gratitude to the wise leadership for its great support for equestrian sports and endurance racing, stressing that this support constitutes a solid foundation for the continued development and prosperity of this sport at the local and international levels.
For his part, Ahmed Al Matrooshi, Member of the Board of Directors and CEO of Emaar Properties, expressed his happiness at sponsoring the “His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai Endurance Cup”, the most prominent event and closing point of the festival, stressing that the festival has witnessed exceptional growth since its launch in 2009, and that it represents a celebration of the authentic heritage values ​​that Dubai is keen to preserve and enhance its global presence.

It is noteworthy that the last edition of the festival witnessed the jockey Majid Jamal Al Muhairi winning the cup title for the F3 Stables with a time of 4:10:51 hours and an average speed of 28.7 kilometers per hour, while his colleague Rashid Mohammed Atiq Al Muhairi came second, and the Argentine jockey Melina Mendez came in third place for the M7 Stables.
