The Ministry of Education announces a new structure for the school calendar starting from the academic year 2025-2026

With the adoption of the Education and Human Development Council, the Ministry of Education has announced a new structure for the school calendar starting from the academic year 2025-2026.

The new calendar includes all public and private schools in the country, regardless of the type of curriculum followed, as all schools are committed to the unified dates for the beginning of the academic year, the end of the classroom, and the end of the semesters.

The academic year is scheduled to start on August 25, 2025, with a leave of the end of the first semester (winter) to be granted for students between December 8, 2025 and January 4, 2026, while the end of the second semester (spring semester) starts from 16 to 29 March 2026, and private schools in the Emirate of Sharjah are applied to leave from 22 to 23 March.

The Ministry also set the mid -classroom leave for government and private schools that apply the Ministry’s curricula as follows:

Chapter One: From 13 to 19 October 2025
Chapter Two: From 11 to 15 February 2026
Chapter Three: From 25 to 31 May 2026

The academic year is concluded on July 3, 2026, while private schools in the Emirate of Sharjah are finished on July 2, 2026.

This step comes within the framework of the Ministry of Education’s endeavor to enhance educational planning and unify efforts at the state level, in a way that serves the quality of education and takes into account the interest of students and parents.
