The UAE continues to maintain water wells in Gaza as part of the “Al -Faris 3” operation

The United Arab Emirates continues, within the process of “Al -Faris 3”, the implementation of the maintenance work of water wells for use in the central Gaza Strip, with the support of the Sharjah Charitable Society, the Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi Foundation, the Dar Al -Bar Association, and in cooperation with the Municipal Water Authority in the Gaza Strip, as part of an integrated project to maintain central wells in the municipalities of the sector.

This vital project comes at a time when the residents of Gaza suffer from a severe water crisis, as a result of the continuation of difficult humanitarian conditions and the destruction of infrastructure, as the water suitable for use has become an urgent need to confront thirst, spread diseases, and malnutrition, especially in light of the stopping of desalination plants and the scarcity of fuel needed to operate them.

The project includes the rehabilitation of the infrastructure of wells, the maintenance of pumps and generators, the restart of the idle wells, with the aim of ensuring the flow of clean water to hundreds of thousands of population in the central areas of the sector, and alleviating the burdens in light of a difficult humanitarian reality that is more complicated day after day.

The UAE is the water sector of special importance within the projects of “Al -Faris 3” that has been going on since the beginning of the war, as it implemented a series of qualitative projects, most notably the start of the implementation of the project of desalinated water line from Egyptian lands to the areas of Al -Mawasi in Rafah and Khan Yunis, which is expected to benefit from about 600 thousand citizens of the southern Gaza Strip.
