"Nuclear control" She wins the International Prize for Excellence in Internal Auditing

Abu Dhabi, July 24 / WAM / The International Internal Auditors Institute honored the Federal Authority for Nuclear Control at the International Prize for Excellence in Internal Audit, which the Institute offers for the leadership category in the public sector, as honoring is a high -level achievement and comes in appreciation of the authority’s efforts in this field.

The award was awarded to the joint work group for cooperation in internal audit, an initiative launched in 2020 by the Authority and the Canadian Commission for Nuclear Security in order to enhance the exchange of knowledge and best practices in internal audit on the nuclear regulatory authorities, and one of the most prominent results of this cooperation was the issuance of a guidance guide “checking the inspection operations in the regulatory authorities in the nuclear sector”, which was officially launched during the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency in September 2024.

The guideline included a methodology based on risk management and a controlled framework of eight basic elements to check the inspections in nuclear facilities, which constituted a new global reference in this field, and the authority contributed a pivotal role in developing the guide, by integrating its counter -fraud and the methodology of scrutiny and risks, which added a qualitative dimension of the guide and contributed to enhancing international exchange of oversight practices.

Amna Faridon, Director of the Auditing Department of the Federal Nuclear Control Authority, said that obtaining the award reflects the commitment of the authority to excellence, transparency and continuous development as well as enhancing its fruitful cooperation with the Canadian Commission for Nuclear Security, to implement the best international standards in the field of internal audit at the level of the supervisory sector locally and internationally.

The winners of the Excellence Awards for this year were chosen from among the hundreds of nominations from 45 countries.
