Amna Al -Dahhak: We renew the commitment to protect the environmental systems of Crimea trees

Abu Dhabi, July 26 / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al -Dahhak, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, confirmed the renewal of the protection of Crimea.
Her Excellency said on the occasion of the International Day of the Environmental Systems for Crimea: We celebrate today with the achievements of the UAE in this field, and we clearly draw the features of the road towards a more sustainable future, as this day constitutes an inspiring moment to meditate on the beauty and greatness of the Crimea trees that decorate our coasts, and constitute a natural shield that protects from high sea levels, coast erosion, and the repercussions of climate change.
She pointed to the advantages of Crimea trees and their unique ability to capture and store carbon dioxide, as it can hold up to four times the amount stored by the tropical forests, in addition to its climate role, as it contributes to enriching the biological diversity, and is a lifeline for fish and many other living organisms, because of its essential food and shelter for its continuity.
“Given this exceptional environmental importance, it sets the national vision, and with the support of the wise leadership, the development of this green system at the heart of efforts, within the country and the world,” she added.
She praised the valuable role played by public and private societies and sectors in supporting this national trend, while the UAE continues its career at a steady pace towards achieving the goal of cultivating 100 million crop trees by the year 2030, as efforts to rely on the environmental systems of Crimea as natural solutions to meet climate change from the firm belief in its pivotal role in achieving the goal of reaching climate neutrality by 2050.
She drew attention to the global partnerships that played a fundamental role in advancing the endeavors to preserve the Crimea, and this cooperation is embodied in the Crimea coalition for climate, which currently includes 45 members, explaining that through this alliance, the UAE has supported the “Crimean Development” initiative, which aims to mobilize the global financing necessary to restore Crimea, and urge governments, the private sector and NGOs to move urgently To protect these trees facing the risk of extinction. The establishment of the “Mohammed bin Zayed Center – Goku Widodo” for Crimean Research on the Indonesian island of Bali is an important achievement in supporting the environmental systems of Crimea trees around the world, and the International Conference for the Preservation of Nature IUCN, affiliated with the International Federation for the Protection of Nature and to be held in Abu Dhabi during the month of October, is a major platform that brings together a group of experts, leaders and decision makers concerned with preserving the environment from different The countries of the world. The conference will enhance the environment’s ability to withstand, encourage the adoption of effective environmental policies, and to create a supportive environment for biological diversity, while paying special attention to Crimea trees of great environmental value.
