Ziad Al -Rahbani for the first time .. “I don’t have Sawa”

It is not surprising that he is a unique and different artist, who does not resemble others, and does not resemble him, as he is the son of the great artist Assi Rahbani, and the icon of Arab singing, the artist Fayrouz, whose art does not grow, and coexists with all times and ages.

Ziad Rahbani drank art from an early age, and in the youth stage he presented to his mother the melody of her immortal song, “They asked me people”, and he had not exceeded 17 years of age, and his true start was towards a world full of contradictions.

Besides art, Ziad was a prominent politician, and he was known as a prominent writer and a different poet; So Ziad was an exceptional man who had no like.

Unreasonable business:

Ziad Al -Rahbani left behind an irreplaceable legacy from the memory of the Arab listener, through which he reflected his life, ideas and orientations, Al -Rahbani did not present his business commercially or with the aim of spreading, but to express himself and his convictions, so his melodies are still transmitted from generation to generation, and in particular the ones he presented to the world with the voice of his mother Fayrouz, whether from his words or the most famous of you, Your promises are resonant, the mediation, and peace be upon him).

Ziyad himself also presented a number of lyrical works, such as: (I am not an infidel, and since it is, without nothing, and living alone Black, and what days, and Monodos).

And because he is the son of one of the giants of the Arab theater, Ziad combined the theater, compositions and music, and he did not skimp on his talent on any of them, he presented satirical plays that is one of the most famous of what was shown in the Arab theater, including: (A long American movie, something failed, and the pleasure came down, and had it not been for the savage of hope, and in terms of dignity and the stubborn people, and for Bakra Shaw).

Ziad .. and Fayrouz:

Despite their remarkable artistic cooperation, and the completion of each other for the other in writing, singing and bending, Ziyad’s relationship with his mother Fayrouz remained mysterious, and its details were not revealed, and it was always described as “swinging”, until the stories and myths began to woven around it, including what he narrated by himself about the story of the song “How are you”, which says: Ziad has traveled, Serendipity during his leave in Beirut, and I asked him: “How are you?

Ziad .. and the war:

The war affected its nature on the life of Ziyad, in which he built his chaos in which he was known, and his boldness that exceeded the borders. In the times when the Lebanese were busy with the war, its setbacks, and its woes, Ziyad was building his empire in the art, theater and the texts that he presented to the world from the depths of his heart, his experiences and pain, and it appears an unimaginable beauty.

Death:

Saturday, July 26, 2025, was a sad day in the history of Arab music, in which he missed every delicate sense of feeling, and a lover of authentic art, one of his pillars, who died at the age of 69. On this day, everyone’s sadness, who agreed with Ziyad, or disagreed with opinion and thought, has imposed himself throughout his life with a brilliant knowledge and name, no one disagrees with his genius.

The body of Rahbani was made in the presence of his mother, Fayrouz, and his sister, Rima Rahbani, today, Monday 28-2025, and thousands of lovers and depositors, who carried the bouquets of white and red flowers, and sang some of his words and melodies, was the most prominent of which was the song “For the first time what was not the Sawa”, which was sang by Fayrouz, and it was one of the masterpieces of her meeting.
