“Bahrain Islamic” receives the award for the most innovative solution in cybersecurity from “ISACA”

The Islamic Bank of Bahrain, BISB, the pioneering bank in providing innovative and simple Islamic digital banking services in the Kingdom of Bahrain, won the award for the “most innovative solution” within the awards of the global achievements of the ISACA Information Systems Association for the year 2025. The award was awarded in appreciation of the efforts of the CEO of Information Security at the bank Mohamed Hammad, to lead a series of pioneering initiatives that contributed greatly to promoting security capabilities Cyber to fight financial fraud in Bahrain.

The CEO of Bahrain Islamic Bank, Fatima Al -Alawi, said: “We have this prestigious title from the Association of ISACA A source Formulating policies and controls that guarantee the digital safety of citizens and residents on the Kingdom of the Kingdom.

The Islamic Bank of Bahrain is the first bank to obtain this honor from the “ISACA” association at the level of Bahrain, the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Middle East as a whole. “ISACA” is a leading global association in the field of information security, information technology audit, risk management and data privacy. It has been established since 1967 to include today more than 185,000 members around the world. It also gives the awards of global achievements after an accurate international evaluation process, in order to estimate innovative and unique initiatives and solutions.

This award came to honor the solutions and initiatives led by Mr. Mohamed Hammad, in a way that attests to the firm and purposeful commitment of the Islamic Bank of Bahrain to enhance more secure, safe and reliable digital infrastructure for the banking sector in the Kingdom. These efforts included cooperation with a number of regulatory bodies, government agencies and financial institutions, in order to develop unified strategic policies, controls and plans for the purpose of reducing financial fraud, advancing the levels of flexibility, and supporting the framework of cybersecurity in Bahrain.

This honor highlights the effectiveness and efficiency of the strategic initiatives and visions adopted by the bank in the field of security, privacy and preservation of information over the past five years. In this regard, the bank has achieved many pioneering achievements in the region, including obtaining prestigious certificates and prizes that confirm its pre -emptive approach to reducing risk based on innovation, including being the first bank in Bahrain to obtain an ISO 27001: 2022, and the first Islamic bank in Bahrain to obtain a standard for data privacy ISO 2701: 2019, and the first bank in Bahrain to obtain a standard ISO 22301: 2019, and the first bank in Bahrain to obtain a PCI-DSS 4.0 safety standard. This also includes the bank to receive many international and Middle Eastern awards from the Business Construction Institute (BCI), whether for the team as a whole or its professional members individually, for four consecutive years.

This achievement establishes the position of the Islamic Bank of Bahrain as a leading Islamic financial institution in the sector, and a partner who contributes to advancing the sustainable digital economy in the Kingdom.
