Annual inflation in Italy settles at 1.7% during July

Rome on August 1/ WAM/ The annual inflation rate in Italy stabilized at 1.7% during last July, while the consumer price index increased by 0.4% on a monthly basis, according to the Italian National Institute of Statistics (Estat).

The Institute’s data, which was reported by the Italian “Ankamid” news agency, showed that the prices of food, home tools, and personal care products increased by 3.4% during July, compared to 2.8% during last June.

The basic inflation rate – which excludes energy and non -manufactured foods – 2.0%, maintained its recorded level during June, while inflation, with the exception of energy, increased to 2.2% compared to 2.1% in the previous month.
