"Abu Dhabi Agriculture" You get the first global certificate in artificial intelligence in the agricultural sector

Abu Dhabi, August 3/ WAM/ The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority obtained an international accreditation certificate (ISO 42001: 2023) for artificial intelligence management systems, in a new achievement is the first globally in the agricultural and food security sector and the first at the government level in the UAE that supports the state’s leadership regionally and globally, and enhances its experience in developing and adopting international best practices and standards.

The international accreditation certificate covers the areas of harnessing advanced artificial intelligence technologies, such as smart analyzes and machine learning algorithms, in enhancing the efficiency of agricultural processes and food security services provided by the authority to society, which reflects its commitment to applying the highest international standards in managing artificial intelligence technologies in a responsible and effective manner, in order to support the goals of digital transformation and sustainable development.

His Excellency Omar Sultan Al -Ulama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Labor Applications, stressed that the UAE, under the guidance of good leadership, continues its pioneering role in developing and adopting international standards of responsible artificial intelligence, which establishes its distinguished position in the forefront of global countries in the areas of adopting artificial intelligence and the latest smart technologies in various sectors, including agriculture and food security.

His Excellency said that the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority on international accreditation represents a new achievement added to the achievements of the UAE, and its qualitative initiatives based on adopting artificial intelligence solutions is a strategic tool to enhance the efficiency of priority sectors, and the price of the authority’s contribution to promoting digital transformation and ensuring food security, which reflects the vision of rational leadership in building a sustainable and innovative future.

For his part, His Excellency Dr. Tariq Al -Amri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority, confirmed that achieving this achievement came thanks to the support of the wise leadership and the efforts of the specialized work team and supportive bodies.

He explained that this achievement is in line with the vision of Abu Dhabi and the UAE strategy for artificial intelligence 2031, and supports the authority’s role in achieving agricultural sustainability, food security and digital transformation through artificial intelligence solutions.

In this regard, the authority affirms its commitment to continuing excellence and innovation to serve the community and achieve leadership directions in consolidating food security and enhancing the state’s leadership in artificial intelligence, while continuing to use advanced technologies to achieve the goals of digital transformation, sustainability and food security for future generations.

It is noteworthy that the UAE has participated since 2020 within the Emirates Group for AI experts in the International Organization for Standards (ISO IEC JTC SC 41/1 to set unified frameworks and standards for this technology worldwide.

A group of national and international experiences, researchers and academics from government, private and academic agencies in the group will participate in the group.
