A bail of up to 15 thousand dollars .. A possible condition for America’s entry with a tourism or work visa

The US government announced, on Monday, the launch of a new experimental program within two weeks, allowing the imposition of financial guarantees of up to 15 thousand dollars on some applicants to obtain tourism visas or temporary work, in an attempt to reduce the phenomenon of exceeding the permissible residence period.

According to an official notice published in the “Federal Registry”, the program will be given American consulate employees with the authority to impose a guarantee on travelers coming from countries that record high rates of residence violations, or from countries suffering from a lack of security and security check information.

The implementation of the program is scheduled to start on August 20, and will last for about a year.

This measure comes in the context of a strict policy towards immigration adopted by the administration of former US President Donald Trump, which focused on tightening border control and increasing deportations, as well as prominent decisions such as a travel ban on 12 countries for national security reasons.

Washington had launched a similar program in November 2020, in recent months of Trump’s first state, but it was not fully implemented due to the decline in international travel at the time as a result of the Kofid-19s.
