The storm Floris paralyzes the movement of life in Scotland and northern England

The storm Flores caused the paralysis of the life movement in Scotland and northern England, as the authorities were forced to disrupt the movement of trains, close roads and cancel events, after the country struck “extraordinary” force for August, according to the National Meteorological Office.
The meteorological office has placed almost all over Scotland, a summer tourist destination with distinction, at the “orange” alert level, the second among 3 levels.
The office announced in a statement, “The storm Flores is unusual at this time of the year,” adding that it was the second time since 2011 to issue a warning from strong winds at this level in August.
He added: “In some parts of Scotland, a record for wind speeds may be recorded in August.”

Heavy losses

The wind speed reached 130 kilometers per hour on the island of South Oast, west of the United Kingdom.
The Network Rail Scotland has seen numerous disturbances and trips were canceled.
The fall of a fire broke out on the railway near Glasgow.
Tours were canceled at some airports, especially the Aberdeen Airport (northeast).
Electricity was also cut off from about 22,500 homes on Monday afternoon, according to the Scottish and Southern Electricity Network (SSEN).

“During the summer, we are undergoing a similar operation in its size, such as the one that occurs when a storm in the winter goes,” said Andy Smith, head of operations in the SSEN electricity network.

The sixth storm that strikes Britain

In Edinburgh, the famous Fring Festival for Performance Arts, which receives more than two million people annually, was forced to cancel about 100 shows due to the storm, according to its director, Tony Lancaster, told Sky News.
The city’s zoo remained closed throughout the day.
On the tourist island of Sky, strong winds were washed away, according to the local police, which recommended the vacationers to take shelter.
The Meteorological Office warned of the possibility of heavy rains accompanied by violent winds.
This warning remains valid until 23:00 local time (22:00 GMT).
The storm Flores is the sixth that has been hitting the United Kingdom since last September, which represents the beginning of the calendar to count this type of climate phenomenon that doubles its power by climate change.
