In 9 regions .. 24 violations of the system of archeology and urban heritage were monitored during July 2025
Monitor Heritage Authority 24 violations of the system of antiquities, museums and urban heritage during the month of July 2025, in the context of its continuous efforts to protect archaeological sites and preserve the urban heritage from infringements and illegal practices, as these violations were documented through social media and follow -up of heritage sites in a number of cities and regions of the Kingdom.
The cities where the violations were registered: Riyadh, Jeddah, Hail, Makkah Al -Mukarramah, Al -Madinah Al -Munawwarah, Taif, Sakaka, Al -Qassim, and the Eastern Region.
It varied Violations Between infringement of archaeological sites with excavation and digging work, possession of artifacts and displaying for sale, in addition to entering archaeological sites without a license, and carrying out work and excavating a violation of the regulations.
According to the commission, 22 violations were referred to the General Security, while two violations were referred to the Public Prosecution, bringing the total violations that were monitored to 24 violations.
The authority stressed the importance of reporting any violations affecting the national heritage, calling for the use of a “archaeological communication” service, that protecting cultural heritage is a societal responsibility that requires everyone’s cooperation.
