Sandooq Al Watan concludes its Ramadan activities by distributing gifts to 250 Emirati families

Abu Dhabi, March 18 / WAM / Sandooq Al Watan concluded its Ramadan activities yesterday, distributing 250 bags containing various gifts that meet the needs of the family during the holy month, as part of the “Tawasul” program.

Volunteers from schools and universities, in addition to some families and neighborhood councils in Abu Dhabi and a number of emirates of the country, participated in the distribution operations, as part of a series of Ramadan activities launched by the Fund since the beginning of the holy month.

His Excellency Yasser Al Gergawi, Director General of Sandooq Al Watan, said that the Fund’s launch of this initiative at the end of the holy month comes from the vision of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sandooq Al Watan, which focuses on enhancing the spirit of giving and communication, and consolidating the principles of social responsibility and joint work among members of society.

He added that the initiative also aims to activate the capabilities and energies of young people in authentic community work, which has been passed down to Emirati generations, generation after generation over decades, within the framework of the Fund’s keenness to build generations that are aware of their values, adhere to their morals, and are able to contribute to the nation’s renaissance and ensure the sustainability of its progress.

Al Gergawi stressed that this initiative aims to revive the authentic customs and traditions of Emirati society, and to enhance the values of family communication and compassion between different generations during the holy month, while preserving the national identity and its social heritage.

He pointed out that Ramadan represents a unifying space in which family ties are renewed and the meanings of participation and giving are deepened, explaining that the participation of multiple generations of school and university students, youth and volunteers in the initiative reflects the Fund’s belief in the importance of morals as a basis for building a prosperous society, consolidating the values of cooperation, communication and mutual support, while enhancing joint work with national institutions to spread noble values in daily life.

He explained that the Fund is keen for all its activities and initiatives to be an embodiment of the established customs and traditions of Emirati society, and a practical translation of our Islamic identity based on human communication and social solidarity.

He stressed that preserving these values is not a seasonal option, but rather a consistent approach established by the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul,” and made it a pillar for building Emirati society, noting that the Fund is moving on this path with the support of our wise leadership.
