"Abu Dhabi Ports" She opens her new office in Islamabad

Islamabad on August 5 / WAM / The Abu Dhabi Ports Group announced the opening of its first representative office in Islamabad, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in a strategic move that enhances the group’s trends towards international expansion, and confirms its continuous commitment to supporting trade and logistical growth plans in South and Central Asia.
The new office in the heart of the capital, Islamabad, reinforces the attendance of the global group, which includes more than 140 offices around the world, and is characterized by its proximity to the federal ministries, organizational bodies and major government institutions, and will act as a link to enhance cooperation with all government agencies, and support the implementation of vital priority projects in the areas of infrastructure and commercial services.
The group will also take an administrative center to enhance its partnerships with customers, through which it will support its existing operations and activities, and to develop strategic partnerships in the port sectors and marine, logistical and industrial services.
The opening ceremony, which was held today, was attended by His Excellency Hamad Obaid Al -Zaabi, the UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, Abdul Aziz Zayed Al Shamsi, Regional CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, and Abdul Aziz Al Balushi, Regional CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, along with a number of senior officials.
On the Pakistani side, His Excellency Mohamed Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Mohamed Junaid Anwar Curdi, Minister of Maritime Affairs, His Excellency Mohamed Hanif Abbasi, Minister of Railways, His Excellency Jam Kamal, Minister of Commerce, His Excellency Atallah Tarar, Minister of Information, Khaled Hussein Maxi, Minister of Science and Technology attended.
This opening comes in the wake of the group’s announcement of strategic investments amounting to 295 million US dollars, to develop and strengthen the sidewalks and general and bulk of goods in the eastern sidewalk in Karachi Port, which is an essential pillar within the group’s strategy to contribute to strengthening Pakistan as a major center for trade and logistical services in the region.
Captain Mohamed Jumaa Al Shamsi, Managing Director and CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group, said that the opening of the office in Islamabad is a prominent station within the group’s strategy for global expansion, and confirms the deep and sustainable commitment to Pakistan, and this step will contribute to enhancing cooperation with government agencies and strategic partners in the country, which establishes the group’s position as a major shareholder in the economic transformation march that is witnessing it The country.
Pakistan has a strategic geographical location that qualifies it to be a pivotal naval gate to the Central Asian region, which makes it an essential axis within the comprehensive vision of the Abu Dhabi Ports Group to contribute to the development of an integrated commercial corridor that extends from China to Europe.
The group has become largely present in a number of major markets on this corridor, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Georgia.
In 2022, the Abu Dhabi Ports Group entered the Pakistani market through a 50 -year historic concession agreement to develop and operate the 6-10 container sidewalks in the eastern sidewalk of Karachi Port, in partnership with the company “Kahil Terminal”, and this was followed by the signing of a second franchise agreement for 50 years in 2023 to develop and manage sidewalks 11-17 for general goods.
Through its operating arm, “Karachi Gate Station Ltd.”, the group applied advanced operating systems, brought high -tech equipment, adopted the best global practices, which contributed significantly to raising the efficiency of operational operations, reducing ships waiting times, and increasing the volume of cargo handling.
These improvements contributed to enhancing the position of the Karachi port as a pivotal logistical center, which contributed to raising the level of export infrastructure in Pakistan, and supporting the state’s efforts towards diversifying its economy.
In parallel, the Abu Dhabi Ports Group has entered into a number of major agreements to expand its integrated system for logistics and digital trade in Pakistan, which included the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Pakistani Investment Council, the conclusion of a strategic agreement with the “Pakistan Unified Window”, and the cooperation with a “Bahri Foundation” to develop birth services, ship exchange, marine services, and launch an initiative before “Logistics”, affiliated with the Abu Dhabi Ports Group, in partnership with the “Karachi Gate Station Ltd.”.
Through initiatives, the Abu Dhabi Ports Group aims to accelerate the frequency of updating the infrastructure for logistical and commercial services in Pakistan, opening new horizons for foreign direct investment, and enhancing regional integration on a wider scale.
