"National Space Academy" and"Edge" They launched a training program in satellite missions design

Abu Dhabi, August 7 / WAM / The National Space Academy launched a training program in designing space missions and satellite engineering in partnership with Edge Group.
This program, which is presented in cooperation with the “Space” and “Becken” company of the Edge Group, aims to build the next generation of satellite engineers, systems engineers, and mission leaders in the UAE through practical training on satellite task systems.
The program also provides professional, Emirati researchers and graduates with expertise specialized in designing satellite tasks, space systems engineering and missions, which enables them to support and accelerate space capacity development.
His Excellency Eng. Salem Butti Al Qubaisi, Director General of the Emirates Space Agency, said that preparing national competencies is a basic pillar in the agency’s strategy to ensure the sustainability of the space sector, stressing their commitment to qualifying and training young national cadres and refining their skills according to the highest international standards for the leadership of future space initiatives and tasks efficiently, and enhancing the UAE’s position as a global engine for innovation, scientific and technological progress.
He affirmed their endeavor through the National Space Academy, which is one of the transformational agency projects and the courses it provides, to develop an integrated educational and training system that brings together the theoretical and practical aspects, and meet the needs of the labor market, as this is an important step to support the UAE’s ability to keep pace with the requirements of the next stage.
For his part, Walid Al -Mismari, head of the cyber space and security technology sector in Edge Group, said that the success and distinction of the UAE in the field of space depends on the formation of a new generation of Emirati with high technical skills and qualified to lead complex space missions, explaining that the program does not only provide global knowledge and practical experience, but rather enhances Edge’s commitment to support the Emirati space sector by developing capabilities at all levels.
The program, which will last for ten weeks, will be held from September 16 to November 20, 2025 at the UAE Space Agency headquarters in Abu Dhabi, the advanced training center of “Bakin Red”, and the “Space” company facilities, and combines personal technical training and online academic units, led by a group of local and international industry experts.
Participants will gain extensive practical experiences across five basic units, including space missions design, applied space systems engineering, checking space systems, space missions, and the central status project that simulates planning, design and comprehensive justification for a real satellite mission.
The curriculum was also designed to provide in -depth technical training through direct laboratory work and project applications using standard tools and software in this field, while enhancing the strategic understanding of operational planning through field visits to leading institutions in the field of space and technology in the Emirates.
The program, which is available exclusively for the citizens of the UAE, targets professionals working in government or private institutions in the space sector, in addition to academic researchers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics majors, and the program also welcomes the requests of graduates with a bachelor’s degree or higher qualifications, and the last date for applications is August 25, 2025.
