Abu Dhabi, August 11 / WAM / The Federal Tax Authority intensified during the current year its supervisory efforts to implement its inspection campaigns in the state markets in cooperation with the relevant authorities to enhance tax compliance and protect consumer rights and combat tax evasion to ensure commitment to legislation and tax procedures.

The inspection teams of the authority carried out during their campaigns during the first half of the year 85,500 field inspection visits in the local markets in all emirates of the state, recording a growth of up to 110.7 % compared to the first half of the year 2024, during which it carried out about 40,580 field visits.

The authority explained that the total value of tax dues and fines associated with selective goods that were seized during the inspection field visits; It amounted to 357.22 million dirhams in exchange for 191.75 million dirhams during the same period in 2024, an increase of 86.29 %.

The authority pointed out that the inspection field visits implemented on the selective tax during the first half of 2025, during which more than 17.6 million cans were seized and a violation of selective commodities, while 7.2 million cans were seized and a violated ablution during the first half of 2024, an increase of 144.44 %.

11.52 million cans of violating tobacco products that do not carry “digital tax stamps” are not registered with the electronic system of the authority, equivalent to more than twice the violating tobacco products that were seized during the same period last year, where 5.52 million cans of tobacco were seized at a rise of 108.7 %.

The authority revealed the seizure of 6.1 million absurds from other selective commodities that include soft drinks, energy drinks and locked drinks, equivalent to more than 3.5 times what was seized during the first six months of 2024, where 1.74 million packages were seized other selective commodities, which are violating an increase of more than 250 %.

Sarah Al -Habashi, Executive Director of the Tax Compliance Sector at the Federal Tax Authority, confirmed that the authority intensifies its supervisory efforts to follow up the commitment of the tax on legislation and tax procedures in all their transactions, and to combat tax evasion, as it aims to protect consumers from leaking products subject to tax that does not conform to the quality standards approved to markets to markets The state.

She said that the authority relies in its supervisory procedures on the latest digital technologies, which contributes to the continuous improvement in the level of tax compliance, and to raise the efficiency and effectiveness of supervisory efforts, as these technologies are used in follow -up and inspection operations and monitoring smuggled products that are not paid tax due.
