Abu Dhabi International Boat Show is a platform for innovation

ABU DHABI, 21st November / WAM / The Abu Dhabi International Boat Show, in its current session, is witnessing remarkable momentum and wide participation from visitors and specialists, with a record participation of more than a thousand companies and brands, which reflects the rapid development of the maritime sector in the UAE, and Abu Dhabi’s role as a regional center for marine entertainment and related industries.

Speaking to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the activities of the second day of the exhibition, which will be held between November 20 and 23, participants confirmed that it constitutes a comprehensive platform for local and international companies to showcase their innovations, introduce their services, and search for expansion opportunities, in addition to communicating with yacht and boat enthusiasts and pioneers of modern marine technologies.

Rahma Al-Mashjari, the official spokeswoman for the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show – ADNEC, said that the current session is witnessing a wide attendance, pointing out that the exhibition allows visitors to enjoy various activities in the Marina Hall.

She explained that the number of participating companies and brands exceeded a thousand companies and brands, an increase of 32% compared to the last session, noting that the total area increased to 85 thousand square meters, an increase of 14%, which reflects the continued growth of the exhibition and the expansion of the interest of international and regional companies in the maritime sector.

She pointed out that the exhibition has become a leading forum for marine entertainment enthusiasts and pioneers of marine products and boats, noting that many companies seek, through participation, to expand in Abu Dhabi and other emirates, especially in the fields of marine technology and local industry.

Captain Saif Al Muhairi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Marine and Chief Sustainability Officer at Abu Dhabi Ports Group, said: Abu Dhabi Marine’s participation is as large as usual in the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show, and as a strategic partner we have our main platform as well as participation in the “knowledge hub” area.

He explained that participation also includes the Abu Dhabi Marine Awards in its third year in a row.

He pointed to the services and applications being reviewed, including the “Al Naliyah” application, which includes all information related to marine services, booking water taxi tickets, knowing the maritime situation, and reporting risks in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, in addition to providing the most important maritime circulars and legislation, etc.

Al Muhairi said that the Abu Dhabi Maritime Platform at the exhibition displays a large screen that allows the public to learn how to use marine safety maps, as well as the “Our Observatory” platform, which encourages maritime companies to evaluate their performance according to sustainability and environmental governance standards.

He pointed out that our observatory also includes a presentation of all local legislation in a smooth manner that helps the public understand the role of those legislation.

Al Muhairi stressed that the coming period will witness a great focus on the yachting sector and facilitating maritime movement within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, especially with the start of the new season, pointing out that there are joint efforts with the concerned authorities to organize the movement of jetskis and marine means in cooperation with the National Guard.

For his part, Omar Al Ali, CEO of Nirvana Holding Company, which is participating in the exhibition through its specialized arm, “Nirvana Yachts & Boats,” stressed the importance of marine tourism and the maritime sector in general in Abu Dhabi, which has more than 200 islands, which makes marine tourism an essential part of its identity, noting that the current session is witnessing great public and media interest, and a strong presence of international brands and Emirati companies that manufacture boats or boats. Yachts or spare parts locally.

He added that the company adopts a membership model, as it provides more than 50 boats of various types and sizes, including boats for fishing, cruising, and overnight stays, so that the member can use multiple types of boats without bearing the burden of maintenance or cleaning.

Al-Ali confirmed that the exhibition will witness the display of a fully electric boat equipped with an engine taken from Porsche electric cars, pointing out that the electric boat sector is witnessing significant growth, similar to electric cars and airplanes.
