The Emirates Health Services Corporation announced the implementation of a group of development projects, to update radiological imaging services, as part of a comprehensive plan aimed at upgrading the quality of preventive and diagnostic services, and keeping pace with the state’s directions in digital transformation and improving the quality of life.

Dr. Amina Al Jasmi, Director of the Radiology Management at the Foundation, explained that the plan includes the expansion of integrating artificial intelligence technologies into medical photography examinations, and re -engineering procedures to simplify the customer’s journey and accelerate the access of service, in addition to updating devices and raising the efficiency of technical and operational infrastructure in the radiology departments.

Dr. Al Jasmi added that the Foundation is currently completing its efforts in enhancing the infrastructure of the radiology departments in a number of its facilities, by providing it with advanced digital photography devices, high -precision ultrasound techniques and smart use facades to support clinical decision, in addition to updating the design of the imaging rooms, to provide the highest comfort for customers.

It revealed the activation of the institution for a package of smart solutions in four main areas, which included early detection of breast cancer by analyzing mammogram images, analyzing chest images to detect lung diseases, such as tuberculosis, and automating identification of micro -fractures that are difficult to monitor with the naked eye, in addition to the pre -emptive diagnosis of osteoporosis by analyzing public rays that were conducted for other diagnostic purposes.

Al -Jasmi indicated that the use of artificial intelligence contributed significantly to improving the quality of images and reducing the diagnostic time, which reflected positively on the experience of customers, as it helped reduce the need for diagnostic photography visits to the breast by 88%, in addition to reducing the time required to obtain the service from 19 days to one day, which helped to implement the “one -day diagnosis” model.

She pointed out that these technologies are supportive tools for medical cadres, which contribute to enhancing accuracy and accelerating the provision of the service, stressing the keenness of the radiology management to integrate their services with official digital systems, by linking radiology reports and appointment services to the application of the smart establishment, which facilitates the customer’s journey, and allows him to reach the results and reserve the appointments or adjust them electronically.
