Sharjah Chamber confirms its commitment to enhancing economic cooperation with Pakistan

Sharjah, on August 13 / WAM / The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry confirmed the depth of economic and commercial relations that bring together the business community in the Emirates and Pakistan, noting its keenness to enhance these relations and raise them to new levels of strategic partnership, to serve the common interests of both sides.

This came during a working meeting organized by the Chamber in the Sharjah Maritime Museum, in cooperation with the Pakistani Labor Council, to celebrate the Day of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al -Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, His Excellency Hussein Mohammed Al -Katan General Consul of the Republic of Pakistan in Dubai, and His Excellency Muhammad Ahmed Amin Al -Awadi, Director General of the Chamber, along with a number of Chamber officials and representatives of the Pakistani Labor Council.

His Excellency Abdullah Sultan Al -Owais stressed that the relations between the UAE and the Republic of Pakistan are based on historical ties and close friendships, noting that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries amounted to about 10.9 billion dollars during the fiscal year 2023-2024, which reflects the strength of this relationship, which witnesses an accelerated growth towards broader horizons of investment cooperation, especially in strategic sectors such as renewable energy, technology, and agriculture.

He added that the Emirate of Sharjah plays a pivotal role in strengthening these relations, as it hosts thousands of Pakistani companies, including more than 1,500 companies in Sharjah Publishing City, which reflects the attractiveness of the emirate as a global center for creative industries.

He explained that the launch of the Pakistani Labor Council under the umbrella of the Chamber in September last year represents a strategic step to support joint cooperation efforts, noting that the Chamber is committed to strengthening the council’s efforts by facilitating communication between the business community, organizing commercial missions, and providing a supportive environment for investors.

Dr. Sayed Mohamed Taher, Chairman of the Pakistani Labor Council, expressed his thanks to the Sharjah Chamber for organizing this meeting, praising its role in supporting the Pakistani business community and enhancing the investment environment in the emirate, and stressed the council’s keenness to continue cooperation with the Chamber and organize participation in the various exhibitions and economic events that it organizes.

He pointed out that the Emirate of Sharjah is an attractive destination for Pakistani investors, thanks to its advanced infrastructure and stimulating business environment, pointing out that the council seeks to promote Pakistani products and enhance commercial and cultural ties between the two sides.
