The branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Eastern Region, represented by the Department of Agriculture, launched a proactive awareness package to ensure safe consumption Ramadan dates, stressing the readiness of the markets and the abundance of supply at competitive prices, amid strict control to protect consumers and enhance the quality of the national product.
The Director General of the branch of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture in the Eastern Province, Engineer Fahd Al-Hamzi, confirmed that the abundance of local production has established price stability in Central markets and sales outlets.
He explained that Saudi dates are on the throne of quality globally, thanks to their subjection to strict standards that extend from the stages of cultivation to packaging and storage, to ensure that a safe product reaches the consumer.
Inspection of dates
In the context of the diversity of food options, the Director of the Agriculture Department, Engineer Walid Al-Shuwaird, revealed that the Kingdom embraces more than 300 varieties of dates.
Topping this list are types Prominent such as Sukari, Khalas, Sagai, and Ajwa, which gives those who are fasting multiple alternatives that vary in taste and proportions of sugars, to meet various direct and transformative uses.
