"Identity and nationality " It allows the passport to be renewed a year before the date of its end
Abu Dhabi, August 14/ WAM/ The Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Ports Security decided to allow the replacement of the passport for citizens, during a period of up to a full year before the date of its completion instead of the previous six months in force.
His Excellency Ali Muhammad Al -Shamsi, the head of the commission, issued a decision stating that the citizen may renew his passport in the event that the passport period is a year or less, as the authority will provide service to citizens from the day of “Monday” corresponding to August 18, 2025 through the smart services system.
He stressed that the decision contributes to improving the quality of citizens ’life and enabling them to pre -plan their trips out of the country, and to complete their transactions and expand the scope of the use of official digital documents, in addition to providing proactive and leading institutional services.
Al -Shamsi pointed out that the Emirati passport takes the forefront of the global arrangement of passports in terms of strength, reliability and reliability in the countries of the world, pointing out that the decision is a strong boost to enhance the position of the Emirati passport, and contributes to making the system and services to issue the passport and renew it a leading and inspiring model for the rest of the countries of the region and the world.
